Chief Engineer @ Newton County Water & Sewerage Authority
The Newton County Water & Sewerage Authority is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead and oversee major engineering functions and infrastructure projects, including the design, construction, and maintenance of water and sewer lines, treatment facilities, and public works structures. This leadership role involves supervising professional staff, managing complex engineering initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards in the development of utility and public infrastructure.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for strategic planning, project management, budget oversight, contract negotiation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of civil and utility engineering principles, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects and managing staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in civil or utility engineering.
- Valid Georgia Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license (or ability to obtain).
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
