15th Annual 10K, 5K, 1 mile Fun Run, and Trix* Tot Trot (ages 5 and under) AJC Peachtree Qualifier USATF Certified The Covington Cheerios* Challenge started in 2001 in conjunction with the Y's Healthy Kids Day to promote exercise and healthy living. It has grown from 45 kids running the 1 mile to 1,300 adults and children of all ages in four different races. All proceeds go toward our Annual Campaign which funds our Scholarship Program that helps families and children who otherwise would not be able to participate in our programs due to financial hardship. Prizes for overall fastest times - men & women. Plus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in each age division. Cash prize of $100 for breaking the course record (Male 5K 14:48, Female 5K 17:15, Male 10K 31:16, Female 10K 37:52). And, all kids participating in the 1 mile fun run will receive a medal. There will be activities for the entire family near the Finish line. We will have a Silent Auction with a wide variety of items. Bidding will start Friday, April 15th during packet pickup (10am - 7pm) and conclude at the start of the 5K race (9:30am).
